LGBT

GIRES is a UK wide organisation whose purpose is to improve the lives of trans and gender diverse people of all ages, including those who are non-binary and non-gender.
We are Scotland’s national charity for LGBTI young people, working with 13–25 year olds across the country. We also deliver the LGBT Charter programme to schools, organisations and businesses. Our goal is to make Scotland the best place to grow up for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex young people. We play a leading role in the provision of quality youth work to LGBTI young people that promotes their health and wellbeing, and are a valued and influential partner in LGBTI equality
The LGBT Domestic Abuse project works across Scotland to raise awareness of LGBT people’s experiences of domestic abuse and improve service responses to LGBT people who experience domestic abuse and other forms of gender based violence.
We are continuing to support LGBT+ who have experienced hate crime, sexual violence and/or domestic abuse while remote working. Referrals to access these services can be made by emailing referrals@galop.org.uk or completing our online referral form. We can provide support through telephone, email, text and WhatsApp.
The Scottish Trans Alliance project (Scottish Trans for short) has been funded by the Scottish Government Equality Unit since 2007. We assist transgender people, service providers, employers and equality organisations to engage together to improve gender identity and gender reassignment equality, rights and inclusion in Scotland.
